11 Of The World’s Hottest Bikes

Sheikh Zayed Bridge / Zaha Hadid Architects by Hufton+Crow | ArchDaily

The DC Office of Planning is hoping to re-purpose the old southbound 11th Street Bridge in Southeast DC for future recreational and educational activities as a destination for the District and visitors alike. With tighter budgets than the bridge in this article, OP is hoping to encourage innovative cost conscious design solutions in a competition in the near future.

Becoming a destination in itself and potential catalyst in the future urban growth of Abu Dhabi, the Zaha Hadid designed Sheikh Zayed Bridge was conceived in a highly mobile society that requires a new route around the Gulf south shore, connecting the three Emirates together. Hufton+Crow shared with us their photos as they capture the many viewpoints of this sinusoidal waveform structure. The Silver Line Lives! (On Metro’s New Map, At Least): DCist

Metro’s Silver Line will be operational at some point this year, and the transit agency is preparing by readying a new system map that includes line’s route.

A version of the map posted by Metro for public comments included thinner rail lines, station dots with “whiskers,” the removal of cross streets on station names, abbreviated station names, and a new legend. The full map is below.

Interestingly, Tysons Corner will be listed by its “old” name. Planners recently decided to drop the “corner” and just make the area Tysons, but it looks like the corner will live on on the new Metro map.

Want to know more about how the Silver Line will actually run? Greater Greater Washington has all the details.
